Our Conductors
With literally decades of choral music experience between them, Mona Holton and Daryl Weisenburger are continuing the legacy of fine choral music making in the greater Parkland area and beyond. Mona and Daryl co-directed the provincially award-winning choirs of Memorial Composite High School in Stony Plain, Alberta for many years. Daryl retired from full time teaching in 2019, while Mona continues the tradition of excellence at MCHS. Today they continue to collaborate through co-directing the Vocal Collective family of fine choirs.

Our Choir

Founded in the fall of 2017 in Stony Plain, Vocal Collective began as a small mixed chamber choir fueled by a shared passion for high-caliber choral music. Now proudly celebrating our ninth season, our family of ensembles has grown tremendously. Alongside our flagship group, we regularly launch specialized "Project Choirs" tailored to different genres and generations. Our diverse portfolio includes Vocal Women, Vocal Youth, Vocal Men, Vocal Christmas, Vocal Pop, and Broadway Vocal. Stay tuned to see what exciting new project we unveil for our 2026–2027 season!

Sing with us!

While we are a deeply welcoming community, we maintain a select number of singers in our flagship ensemble to preserve its chamber size. Each fall, we audition and add new singers as positions become available. If you are interested in joining us, please reach out via our contact page.

If our flagship roster is currently full, we would love to have you join one of our Project Choirs! These ensembles are open to any and all singers. This season, we are planning a dynamic pop-up Christmas choir in December, followed by a surprise project in February. Stay tuned to see what we have in store!
