Vocal Collective sprang to life as a Mixed Chamber choir in Stony Plain in the fall of 2017 as a result of a desire for a few people to begin singing together at an expert level. This year we're celebrating out 7th season!
The Vocal Collective family of choirs has expanded over the years to include various "Project Choirs". Over the past few years we've added "Vocal Women" and "Vocal Youth" to our ongoing Chamber Choir, and in the spring of 2024 we debuted "Vocal Men" (a 30 voice men's choir) to our portfolio of choirs! In the fall of 2025 we added "Vocal Christmas" to our growing list of successful projects, and during the winter we added "Vocal Pop" to our list of project choirs. They performed their own concert March 2025! Stayed tuned! What will our next PROJECT be?
Our Conductors
With literally decades of choral music experience between them, Mona Holton and Daryl Weisenburger are continuing the legacy of fine choral music making in the greater Parkland area and beyond. Mona and Daryl co-directed the provincially award-winning choirs of Memorial Composite High School in Stony Plain, Alberta for many years. Daryl retired from full time teaching in 2019, while Mona continues the tradition of excellence at MCHS. Today they continue to collaborate through co-directing the Vocal Collective family of fine choirs.
